How AI created the Xeesty brand.
It's become next to impossible to find both a brand name that is catchy, short, and has a freely available .com domain, and no conflicting IP or trademark issues. The challenge to come up with a unique brand name for a B2C brand meant that we really did want to get the .com address. Although many people are launching consumer product with .e.g .io domains, we still felt that to grow a brand from the ground up, means securing that .com domain, and avoid using the ubiquitous brokers and domain squatters.
Difficult problems, require innovative solutions. We decided that we may as drink our own champagne, or dine on our own dogfood, and see if our AI tools could actually help in the process. We first built out the core brand values that we wanted to associate ourselves with. We wanted to be life affirming, confidently fresh and vigorous, but also trustworthy and immediately recognisable. We also wanted something short and catchy, that was memorable.
We began to develop a data dictionary of key attributes, and then started to expand those key attributes in other languages, then splitting up the prefix and the suffix and splitting up the common roots. It was then relatively simple to use a Markov chain to generate options from the core attributes, and spit them out into a database. From there, we hooked up to the Google search API, and checked for known domains or search hits, and finally hit a domain registration API to see if the domain was registered. The process ran overnight - and low and behold, scanning the outcome, revealed one clear distinct winner -Zeesty.com!
